Mid-size architectural firm with five offices in Montana and Washington and sixty-five employees. Two IT staff. A&E has been a HEO Tech client since 2008.

Solution

HEO Tech recommended and implemented a new phone system and video conferencing, as well as Panzura, which allows for easy transferring of Revit and AutoCAD files between offices.

The Challenge

A&E Design has been working with HEO Tech since 2008, implementing a series of IT changes and upgrades through the years. In recent years, the firm has grown significantly, including opening several new offices and hiring numerous employees. In addition to growing the staff, the firm assumed an extensive load of projects and increased collaboration with consultants across the United States. With this growth came the need for easy, reliable communication and integration between offices and projects. The company also desired to be on the leading edge of technology for its field.

The Solution

The fast-paced growth of the company required immediate technology upgrades and changes in order to keep up with the work load. Pleased with the expertise of the HEO Tech staff and the communication between the employees, A&E decided to collaborate with HEO Tech to design a comprehensive solution that was not only user-friendly, but could scale with future growth. Not only does A&E compete for projects on a state level with the multitudes of architectural firms in Montana, but also on both national and international levels; because of this, the firm felt the pressure to stay on the forefront of technology in order to retain a competitive edge.

The Results

Having worked with HEO Tech on smaller projects within the office, A&E decided to utilize HEO Tech to implement a new phone system (upgraded to digital), upgraded all video conferencing including a new conference system in their new offices, upgraded to Panzura appliances for all offices, integrated Panzura to cloud back-up, and incorporated live data replication with Panzura. These changes have made projects more secure and backups automatic, resulting in a much more complex, yet efficient set-up. Due to Honcoop's technological expertise, A&E is equipped to manage a variety of larger projects and confidently continue to grow and flourish in the competitive field of architecture.
